56 Up

I came across this trailer for 56 Up recently and am very excited to watch the whole Up series.

This British series started following the lives of 14 British children, checking in with them every seven years since 1964.  What’s really interesting is that all but one of the original participants are participating in this latest episode.  I think it’s always interesting to see where people end up, whether it is old acquaintances, friends we’ve lost track off or even our own selves.  Looking back, I think I’ve always been surprised by where I am even within the span of just a single year, but to see how seven years can change a person and to create these chapters to track these changes is pretty amazing.  I watched the first episode here:

…and Part 2 and Part 3.  I’ve always been a believer that everyone’s story is interesting.  Every person we meet has a complicated story that brought them to where they are today.  Not everyone likes to share their stories, but when they do it’s worth listening.

From the snippets that I’ve watched from the other episodes, it seems that some of the participants are a little reluctant to let others into their lives in such a public way and yet they do, reflecting what from my perspective is a basic human need, to share and connect with others :)  It looks like you can find most of the episodes on this YouTube channel.
