San Francisco is one of those cities that sometimes makes you forget you’re in the city. Whether it’s climbing up Twin Peaks, getting lost in Golden Gate Park, Lands End Park, Presidio Park or driving down Highway 1 just outside of the city. It’s one of my favorite things about San Francisco and one of the biggest things Chicago is lacking, in my opinion. The parks Chicago is known for are nice, I don’t dislike them, but they are so… symmetrical. So being able to see all these beautiful vistas without ever really leaving the city is pretty damn cool. (Note the layers upon layers of clothing on everyone… it was COLD.)
Side note: We visited these Sutro Baths and it made me feel kind of, sort of (but really, this is a stretch) like I was in some European city. You don’t often see the ruins of anything in America since it seems like everything is just rebuilt, so it was nice to see this reminder of the past.
