Independence Day and Napa Valley

Forever expanding my humble photo equipment collection, I bought myself a mini tripod specifically so I could experiment with fireworks earlier this month.  So, I was quite disappointed to find out that an ugly light post graces the middle of every single one of my fireworks photos…!  I suppose there’s some benefits to checking your photos as you take them instead of just shooting away :)  untitled-1 untitled-2 untitled-3 untitled-4

We also took the moms up to Napa Valley for a tour and tasting at the Beringer Vineyards.  Being the seasoned Napa wine connoisseur I am (I’ve been to one other vineyard and I know close to nothing about wine other than that it is delicious…), I wasn’t very impressed with the tour or the tasting.  I preferred Hendry by far.  I like to know how stuff happened, how stuff works and how stuff is made.  In this case, the stuff would be the wine :)  Unfortunately, the Beringer tour wasn’t very educational and I didn’t learn too much.  The wine was great, but I prefer my wine with a side of education :)

That’s that for San Francisco.  I’m currently on the other side of the country in New York and off to DC tomorrow, visiting another close friend and taking advantage of some vacation time off from work.

If you’re interested, here are posts from my previous San Francisco trips: 1, 23, 4, 5, 6, 7,
