So, I had this brilliant idea for a blog post recently (at least from what I remember it was brilliant, but if we’re being realistic, we can assume it was just ok) and I didn’t write it down and of course, I forgot it. But I promise, it was good and I promise that it’ll bother me until I remember it and then I will share it with you.
So, in the meantime, here’s this. A couple days ago, I was listening to some excerpts from an interview with Veronica Roth (author of the Divergent series) and she mentioned something that was very interesting. I don’t have the exact quote, but the gist was that even all the way back in middle school, she would spend her free time writing. It did not dawn on her that other kids were not doing this, she thought it was perfectly average. I love that idea, the idea that what we all find normal and average about ourselves is what is actually unique and interesting about us. Our everyday. It is so easy to forget that my normal is not your normal. Anyway, back to my normal now, if you’re celebrating, happy Halloween, here’s a treat!
P.S. This is Misiu’s costume last year… he’ll probably be wearing the same thing this year since he’s getting old and his memory is faulty. Try to act surprised if you see him :)
